In a convenient location in Sydney CBD (Central Business District), this backpacker hostel has free WiFi, shared kitchen and laundry facilities, plus air-conditioned rooms with secure lockers. Central Station is a 3-minute walk away.
790 on George Backpackers is a 15-minute walk from Darling Harbour and it is a 30-minute walk to Circular Quay, Sydney Opera House and the Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Guests can chose between private and dormitory accommodation. All rooms have access to shared bathroom facilities. All bed linen is provided and the lockers feature individual electric power points.
Internet access is available throughout 790 on George Backpackers Hostel. You can relax in the large basement area with a TV and vending machines.

Free breakfast and free items ensure that food doesn't go to waste.Although there are only two bathrooms, the spaces are large, comfortable, and well-designed, so you don’t have to worry about your clean clothes getting wet.

It has all you need. The building has 7 floors, and backpackers fluctuate a lot, so the facility is well adjusted to the number of people coming and going. Big kitchen, where everyone fits, with simple but plentiful breakfast each morning, you can leave there a luggage if you have a free morning before checking or afternoon before flight. Location. It's next to the train station, or metro (T), which is a few stops from the airport. A tram stop (L) is in front of the building, which can take you all the way to the harbour, Opera house. There is a bus stop that takes you to Bondi or Maroubra Beach.

Location-wise it's hard to beat. Right by the lightrail station, and a 2min walk to the central station for trains and buses. Good amount of storage space for food in the kitchen, the staff were very friendly and helpful. Next time I come to Sydney, will definitely book here again.

Well situated, 2 steps from Central station. Good wi-fi in rooms and common parts. Each bed has a dedicated closet (you have to bring your own locker) and a small very practical bed lamp. There is a nice and usually quiet common space separated from the kitchen. Overall clean in rooms and common parts (even if as usual, in the kitchen, some people are just spoiled and don't clean after themselves :/). HUGE common refrigerators in the kitchens provide enough space to everyone (which is not the case in some other hostels). Enough showers and WC. Hot water in showers. Enough washing machines. Friendly staff. The clients are a mixture of long-term stays and a bit older backpackers. You won't find the pub crawls and all-night partys here, but you will get a calm and confortable home. I particularly appreciated the fact that there were separate trash bins (recyclable - non recyclable) in the kitchen.

I liked the corner room with the big windows overlooking the street intersection below. Gave a feeling of enough space in a 6-bed shared room. There were also 2 old but comfy single lounge chairs in the room. Nice to sit there instead of having to climb the top bunk all the time.
