Hotels Near Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix
Singapore hosted the first ever night-time Formula One race series in 2008. The event was run on a 5 kilometre street circuit winding through the city, with a spectacular skyline in the background as the cars whizz by. There are two bridges crossing the harbour and the pit area is located near the Singapore Flyer. The circuit uses public roads in and around the Marina Bay area. Although run at night to capitalise on European television viewing, the track is lit up to appear as though run during the day time.
There is a map of the Singapore F1 track here showing it hugging Marina Bay. To be near the F1 action you would want to stay near Marina Bay or to avoid the F1 noise further North or up the Singapore River may be a better option.
The Singapore Grand Prix is held around the 3rd week of September each year. The Melbourne, Australia Grand Prix is typically the first Grand Prix of the year held in March each year.
