Brisbane Adventure Holiday Guide
If you’re down (or up) for a short holiday of the bold kind, a real escape from those mundane office and home duties, it’s time to drop into Brisbane – from the water, track, cliffs and sky.
Day 1: Greet the day with a smile, then grab it by the throttle and devour:
Take in magnificent 360-degree dawn views and first rays of sun over Brisbane on the Story Bridge climb, from the 80-metre summit.
They don’t do many things fast in Queensland, but a performance driver training day at Queensland Raceway is license to break those shackles. A national champion and expert team teach you the type of skills Starsky and Hutch would be proud of.
Get your tastebuds in on the action at Wild Pepper Pizzeria where you can try dessert pizza such as Strawberry or Pear and Berry. There’s all the usual suspects too, with options for gluten free, dairy free, and vegan.
Day 2: Do you like to move to, move it?
Work off those pizzas with a windsurfing lesson, using balance, control and your uncanny skills to whip across the water at high speed on sunny Clontarf Bells Beach.
Get closer to Brisbane— freefalling for up to 60 seconds starting at over 14000 feet above the city on a Freefall & Parachute Training course.
There’s modern Australia cuisine and then there’s modern Australian currency cuisine at Tukka where you can have emu, kangaroo and Tassie possum with dash of jus and a gourmet twist.
Day 3: Bounce out to Kangaroo Point for a taste of nature then back to town for a bite of Brazilian:
Learn the lingo and the legwork required for rock climbing at Kangaroo Point, where the expert crew suit you up for a safe, but thrilling cliff face adventure.
As Sir Isaac Newton said, “What goes rock climbing must come abseiling”. In fact many prefer it. You can choose a day or night adventure, you get champagne and nibbles by the river – and best of all, it’s all downhill.
It’s a jungle out there at the Brazilian Theatre Restaurant – scantily clad dancers, competitions and que delícia BBQ food such as chicken sautéed in secret Brazilian sauce, Carneiro (lamb) fogo a lenha, Porco Laranga (Pork), and tender beef.
The Sebel Suites Brisbane has an entire Recreation Deck with a heated swimming pool, and a well-equipped gymnasium with sauna.
Calm down from a crazy day at Apollo’s Day Spa with massage, and traditional Asian- style bathhouse at the Diana Plaza Hotel.
At the Holiday Inn Brisbane the most spectacular sights at the rooftop gym and spa are the ones looking out over across the city views. Great bar and restaurant too.
