Wanaka is a compact town located on the southern shores of Lake Wanaka. It is situated in the south island of New Zealand. The town has both summer and winter seasons, and is continually developing as a tourist centre. Because it boasts a great number of beautiful natural attractions, it is a great getaway from the city.
The Wanaka Autumn Arts Festival takes place in the later days of March every year. Tourists are advised to see the Warbirds Museum, Stuart Landsborough’s Puzzling World, and the Wanaka Transport Museum. Activities in the town include touring around the local estates, fishing, and skiing. Some of the best restaurants to eat and drink include AmiGos Mexican Grill and Finchey’s Bar and Restaurant which was built on a jail site in downtown Wanaka.
Some nearby attractions include Mount Aspiring National Park and Fox Glacier, the biggest glacier on the West Coast.
