Blazing Saddles Horse Trail Rides - Great Ocean Road Australia


Blazing Saddles offers the best beach and bush rides in Victoria. We have a variety of horses from Arabs, Appaloosas, Stock horses and Clydie cross horses that will suit all types of riders. We are open every day and ride in most weather conditions. No need to worry about helmets, boots and jackets, all you need is a pair of long pants and we supply the rest.


Our beginner ride is 1 1/4hrs and has some of the most amazing views along the coast, our 2 1/4hr bush ride is for those who fancy a lot more action, while our beach ride is 2 1/2hrs and is along 5 k's of Fairhaven beach coastline, which is so pristine and we think one of the nicest beaches in Victoria.Our guides are all fantastic and will help you out to make riding a more relaxed experience for those who are nervous and for those who 'want to go for it', they'll make sure you won't forget it!

Surfing


Have you ever wanted to take the plunge into the ocean on a summer's day and try Surfing? Most people's response is that it looks way too hard, but Go Ride a Wave makes it easy and accessible to everyone. Lessons are run mostly at waist deep water, using specially designed soft foam boards and over 80per cent of participants get to stand up (even if only for a short time) in their first lesson.


Go Ride a Wave has been teaching Surfing for 20 years and their expert, qualified instructors not only teach you the basics, they make it an experience hard to forget. Full-length wetsuits, boards and instruction for 2 hours are all provided to help you look cool! Classes are run in Anglesea, Torquay, Ocean Grove and Lorne.


Sit on Top Kayaks


Go Ride a Wave also offers 2 hour fun sessions on sit on top kayaks in the surf. We use sheltered locations like Point Roadknight and Cosy Corner with small waves to make it easy and fun for people getting started. Bounce over the waves on the way out and surf them in on either single or double sit on top kayaks. No prior experience is needed and the best quality kayaks, equipment and instructors are used.

We are the only helicopter operator in the world to offer Blue Whale watching flights. Blue Whales can be observed off the coast of Portland from November to May. Seeing the highly endangered Blue Whale the world's largest animal through our high visibility bubble windows is a truly amazing experience!


Did you know that because the Blue Whale is so heavy, it rarely lifts it's tail fluke when diving and only shows a small section of it backbone above the water surface? Only from the air can you see down through the water as these magnificent creatures swim and feed on krill.


Year round we offer a wide range of helicopter services, from short scenic flights to multi-day safaris. For scenic flights, choose to view stunning remote coastline, visit the nearby wine region of Coonawarra (even landing at the cellar door if you wish!), fly over the Kanawinka Geopark with its incredible volcanic features, and much more. Situated just inside the entrance to Port Phillip Bay, with the wilds of Bass Strait in sight, Queenscliff is a town where visitors find the sea is calling them. Fortunately, Impulse Charters has two boats at Queenscliff marina that can make answering that call easy, whether by taking a fishing trip or a pleasure cruise.



The Teri-Lyn, a beautiful old boat made of Kauri pine in 1968, comfortably carries up to 20 passengers. The Impulse, a former Gold Coast surf-rescue vessel, is a very stable, tough little boat for up to 15 passengers or 10 when she heads out into Bass Strait.



David Golightly, the owner of Impulse Charters, is usually at the helm of these intrepid vessels. He and his friendly crew ensure everyone's safe and happy on the journey, starting with a hot breakfast cooked on board trips heading out in the morning. There's also a barbecue lunch for full-day charters, and water and soft drinks provided on every voyage. On fishing trips, quality tackle and bait are supplied, plus as much help and advice as novice anglers need. Everyone's catch is cleaned and bagged, ready for cooking back at home.



For those who prefer watching fish swim by, sunset cruises, or Impulse's new maritime cruise, are the perfect alternative. The two-hour maritime experience takes in fascinating highlights of the region, which is rich in history and marine life. Seeing a semi-submerged World War I wreck, learning about the infamous 'Rip' up close, and watching seals sunning themselves on a purpose-built platform are just some of this cruise's pleasures - there's also a good chance of spotting dolphins.



Teri-Lyn and Impulse are available for private charter, including school fishing trips.

We offer both scheduled half day and full day tours of Port Campbell National Park and Bay of Islands Coastal Park and Warrnambool, Tower Hill and Timboon in our fourteen seater bus and short walking tours of the Loch Ard area.

One hour west of the 12 Apostles very conveniently placed between Warrnambool and Port Fairy is Tower Hill Wildlife Reserve. Inside the vast volcano rim visitors encounter a wildlife haven and international site of geological significance with ash layers showing Aboriginal people existed at the time of eruption.


Worn Gundidj Tours situated at Tower Hill is a product partner of the Great Southern Touring Route therefore ideally positioned for Grampians, Melbourne and Adelaide itineraries. Start the experience by entering Tower Hill's volcano crater which is easily accessible immediately from the Princes Highway (A1) ten minutes west of Warrnambool. Once inside drive 1.5 kilometres to Visitor Centre.


From here our experienced guides offer fun-filled informative tours suited to bus and school groups, families or independent travellers. Westcoast Adventure and Westcoast Surf School are based in Torquay on Victoria's Surfcoast. Operating since 1993, we have taught thousands of happy customers how to surf, snorkel, surf kayak, canoe, rock-climb and abseil.


Westcoast Surf School operates at Torquay, Anglesea and Ocean Grove surf beaches, providing quality instruction and all equipment, including full length wetsuits and specially designed beginners 'G-Board' softboards. Whether its one-on-one private coaching to advanced level, or a group of up to ninety beginners, we can look after you. Our instructors are fully qualified, experienced and friendly, and we use the latest and safest equipment. Our safety record is outstanding and our services are currently being utilised on a regular basis by over one hundred and fifty schools, universities, businesses and other organisations. Our clients come back to us year after year so we must be doing something right!
