The Loddon Tourism Area is situated adjacent to the City of Greater Bendigo and forms part of Tourism Victoria s Goldfields and Murray Outback tourism regions. Covering an area of 6,700 square kilometres, and containing attractions varying from Aboriginal sites to early European settlements, goldfields, lakes, State and National Parks, and nature reserves. The region is mainly unspoilt and can offer visitors an experience in unhurried holidaying whether this is for an extended stay or a brief visit. Our towns still bear authentic streetscapes from the gold rush era and our State Parks are still in their natural state. The Loddon Tourism Area can offer a base for visiting large areas of Central and Northern Victoria, and can be easily reached by road from Melbourne, Bendigo or Mildura via the Calder Highway, or from Echuca and the other Murray River towns via the Loddon Valley Highway.
