Cheltenham,
Victoria

Formed in May 2007, the Friends of Cheltenham and Regional Cemeteries Inc. is a not-for-profit community group which aims to raise the profile of the Cheltenham cemeteries as places of local, state and national importance. Their motto is "research, restore, remember". They do this by: * Researching the lives of those interred and sharing this information for the benefit of future generations; * Restoring gravesites by raising funds through close links with interested parties and other stakeholders; * Remembering the contribution of those from our past by running regular walking tours. Originally named the "Mordialloc and South Moorabbin General Cemetery", eight acres of land fronting Charman Road was reserved and the first interment took place on 27 March 1865 with the burial of John Fullerton Hunter. A portion of the Cemetery was later excised in the 1880s for the railway line to Mordialloc. In 1882, an additional two acres was added. The Cheltenham Pioneer Cemetery is the final resting place of many local pioneers and identities as well as two indigenous Australians. The popular tours are the result of many hours of painstaking research to bring to life long forgotten stories of everyday Melburnians. All participants are provided with a professionally produced tour guide and refreshments. The Cheltenham Pioneer Cemetery is located opposite Cheltenham Railway Station

Evergreen Winery Tours
,
Healesville,
Victoria

Evergreen Winery Tours has been operating in the Yarra Valley since 2001. Host, Geoff Cooper has a simple but effective philosophy on what his tours should entail, they should be small, personal and give clients an insight into Australian hospitality. His winery tours allow clients a personal experience of wines and winemaking. These tours visit the smaller high quality boutique wineries where clients usually meet the owner/winemakers and are given as much time as they need to make their visit both enjoyable and educational. Clients are transported in a luxury Statesman sedan, not the usual coach, van or people mover used by most tour companies. This vehicle ensures that guests enjoy the personal experience Evergreen Tours wishes to provide. The maximum number of people on a tour is four which also ensures personal attention. Tours include: The standard full day tour with lovely two course a la carte restaurant lunch, visiting five wineries, the "Wine Buff's Tour" includes a three course lunch, with wine with each course, sparkling wine at Chandon and exclusive use of the car, the "Balloon and Barrel tour" includes a balloon flight, full breakfast with sparkling wine and an all day winery tour. A half day tour with lunch is also available, this includes visits to four wineries with the same lunch as the full day tour but begins at noon, not 10-30am. As an alternative clients may design tours to meet their own needs on an hourly basis. For more detailed information on Evergreen's tours see the website.
