Tolmer Park is a delightful place to take a break and appreciate the district's spectacular red gums and natural beauty. The park was named after Police Inspector Alexander Tolmer who led gold escorts from the Victorian goldfields to Adelaide during 1852 and 1853; this saved the infant state of South Australia from bankruptcy.

Bordertown is famous for white kangaroos, found in the nearby wildlife park and is the birthplace of Bob Hawke, former Prime Minister of Australia. It is just a short walk to view the Bob Hawke Gallery and Bust.

Also within walking distance is a delightful recreation lake, ideal for canoeing, fishing and barbecues.
