The centre is a fully accredited centre and is open seven days a week from 9am to 5pm. The Flinders Ranges Visitor Information Centre has an extensive selection of local and regional brochures, plus a range of souvenirs, maps, pictures and books for sale. The internet is also available to assist with holiday planning. The Hawker Visitor Information Centre is located within Hawker Motors, which is in the centre Hawker. The accredited Hawker Visitor Information Centre provides information, maps and literature on the Flinders Ranges and Outback as well as basic information for other areas in South Australia. A comprehensive range of souvenirs, books on Australiana and maps are available along with a wide selection of brochures. Light snacks and refreshments, internet access, email, facsimile and photocopying are available. Hawker Visitor Information Centre includes Fred Teague's museum, which contains memorabilia, mineral specimens and bottles. The local Seismograph Station for the Hawker region is situated near the information section and is maintained for the South Australian Government's Department of Primary Industries. The Hawker Visitor Information centre endeavours to ensure that you receive the best possible service at all times.

This project is an initiative of the Leigh Creek Area School. It first opened its doors in July 1999. Since then it has continued to develop into a Centre that offers friendly local service provided by students from the local school and adults from Leigh Creek and its surrounding region. The Information Centre consists of a restored railway passenger sleeper car which was part of the original East West Express. The carriage was put into service in 1917 and was retired from service in 1979. There are two compartments in the carriage which have been restored to how they looked when it was in use as a sleeper car. There is also a wide range of information about the area and state available plus a wide selection of souvenirs for sale. This centre is run by volunteers.

The Outback Centre provides comprehensive tourist information about local and regional tours, attractions and accommodation and provides booking facilities for Port Augusta and the Flinders Ranges and Outback of South Australia. As a gateway service, information and brochures are available on the Eyre Peninsula, Western Australia, the Northern Territory and South Australia in general. The Centre has internet, maps and a large range of books, gifts and souvenirs with a local flavour and has an online shop with booking facilities through its website. The Centre houses the Outback Tuckerbox and Flinders Ranges and Outback's Discovery Centre, the Tunnel of Time (Interpretive Centre).

The Wirrabara Craft House and Tourist Information Centre is situated in an historic two storey building occupying most of the lower floor. The building looks out over the Wongabirrie parklands. Situated in the park is a mosaic wall and there are facilities for a barbeque and picnic lunch. Tourist Information Centre provides a three metre by three metres comprehensive range of South Australian Tourism Commission visitor guides and local attractions and activities. It is staffed by enthusiastic volunteers who have a wealth of local and regional knowledge. It also holds keys for the local caravan park and Youth Hostel Association. The Visitor Information Centre combines with a fabulous craft show where local artists and crafts people sell an extensive range of high quality craft.
