Angaston Cottage Industries was started in 1972 by a group of local women keen to use surplus local produce and show off their creative talent. Today the shop stocks a range of homemade goods, homegrown produce and crafts from over 300 contributors.

We have a large selection of homemade jam, pickles, sauces, biscuits and cakes. We have anything from rose petal jam to Shiraz grape sauce. hand knitted jumpers, socks, gloves and caps are always popular, as our children's toys and our fairy section.

The stock is always changing and new contributors are always welcome.

Antiques and More at 24 is a classic country antique shop located in the main street of Angaston, selling the best Barossa pieces and many more interesting and eclectic items including china, glass, silver and furniture.

The building is an original 1860s cottage, which has been fully restored and air conditioned with brightly painted walls and is well lit to create a buyers and browsers haven.

A large building in the rear garden houses larger pieces and some un-restored pieces and the courtyard between the buildings displays gates and outdoor and garden furniture including more rustic items.

Barossa Brewing Company is a boutique brewery in the Barossa region of South Australia. Their hallmarks are natural ingredients, tradition and quality.

The Barossa Brewing Company take beer seriously, producing small batches of pure, traditionally fermented beers, hand-crafted from the best ingredients available.

They are serious about tradition too. Using the German Beer Purity Law of 1516 as their model and drawing inspiration from the Barossa's long tradition of quality, they have developed beers of distinction and taste.

The Barossa Brewing Company balances tradition and innovation to create recipes for beers that are pure, unfiltered and full of flavour.

The brewery is located in the historic old Wheat Store in Greenock, a quiet hamlet on the western slope of the Barossa.

Every Saturday morning from 7.30am to 11.30am, you can taste and take home the best the Barossa has to offer. Over 50 stallholders provide a cornucopia of the freshest vegetables, meats, breads and cheeses. Delicious oils, preserves and local specialities give you everything you need for the week ahead.

The growers at the Barossa Farmers Market often pick their lettuce and tomatoes and other produce just the night before market, sometimes even that very morning. Many of them grow organically. So what you take home is as fresh, seasonal and full of flavour as any produce, anywhere.

What's better than bacon and eggs on Saturday morning? Having someone else cook it for you! We mean real eggs, and real bacon, served on a toasty fresh roll, with amazing sauces and chutneys to top it off. So grab a latté, pull up a bale, and forget about the dishes!

At Barossa Fruit Wines our we produce semi-sweet alcoholic table and dessert wine using a wide range of fruit, but not grapes. This follows an ancient tradition whereby people made wine from whatever fruit was available at the time.

Our wide range of 12 begins with elegant fragrant Rose Petal, through popular varieties of berry, pomme and stone fruits, to unique Quandong (Australian Native Peach).

We also have a family art display featuring charcoal drawings of steam locomotives of South Australia. Pastel, charcoal, other works and hand made prints available for sale.

Discover the gold mining history of the area on one of the two loop trails. The shorter loop is just over one kilometre long and takes about one hour to complete. The longer loop is about five kilometres and takes three to four hours. Interpretive signs illustrate mining techniques, geology, and treatment of ore and the lifestyles of people who lived there.

Fossicking and collecting of rocks are not permitted.

Re-enactment Day is at Bowden's Cottage on the third Sunday in October where visitors can pan for gold, see mining displays, learn about local history, see blacksmithing demonstrations, old working engines and enjoy Billy tea and damper.

For three years Barossa Living Magazine has enabled locals, visitors and others to experience the stories and culture of the Barossa through the printed page. The Barossa Living Gallery highlights the work of those local artists who have appeared in Barossa Living Magazine since 2006.

Featured pieces include paintings by Marnie Wark, handcrafted pieces from jeweller William Herkes, a beautifully illustrated Barossa map from artist Glenn Lumsden, selected pieces from the Barossa Traditional Furniture Company and Angela Heuzenroeder’s published works.

The Barossa Living Gallery is open daily for public viewings and they warmly invite you to call in and experience this unique celebration of art and culture in the Barossa.

The 'House of Olives' retail outlet in Truro (Barossa Valley) offers a wide selection of South Australian olive oils, ranging from mild to robust. They include several oils from medal winners in the South Australian Olive Oil Competition, organic oils and oils infused with lemon, garlic, chilli, basil, citrus, lime and lemon myrtle. All can be tasted before purchase to ensure satisfaction.

The House of Olives also stocks olives, spreads, mustards, dips and dukkah. Body products include olive oil based hand cream, shampoo, conditioner, body butter, moisturisers, soap, lip balm and insect repellent.

The perfect gift can be found amongst the oil cans, dishes, olive spoons, forks and pitters. There is a stock of unique range of olive wood religious artefacts imported from the Holy land - rosaries, nativity scenes, candlesticks, Christmas tree decorations and camels.

The Barossa Regional Gallery is a high quality art space displaying works from the permanent Barossa Vintage Festival Collection, Community Art in Fabric, regularly changing temporary and touring exhibitions of paintings and sculptures and space for paintings by Barossa artists. The Barossa Regional Gallery is the home of the historical Hill & Son Grand Organ (1875), lovingly restored by the Organ Historical Trust. The gallery also operates a retail service with local handmade crafts, artworks and books available for purchase.

The Barossa Valley Cheese Company is a mulit-award winnning manufacturer of artisan cheeses.

After opening its doors in 2003 in the idyllic town of Angaston, Barossa Valley Cheese Company rapidly claimed its place in the region’s celebrated wine and food culture. The range now includes 14 different styles of cheese and includes cheeses made from cow and goat milk.

Company founder and head cheese-maker Victoria McClurg and her team are always seeking innovative ideas and refining traditional methods in cheese-making.

Barossa Valley Estate's Cellar Door and Functions Centre is a contemporary new building amongst the rolling hills of Marananga.

With its local stonewalls, jarrah floors and bar, open fire and endless views, it is a place to enjoy and stay awhile. With floor to ceiling windows all around see the panoramic vistas across vineyards, the historic and well-known palm trees and the distant hills. Enjoy the tasting at the home of some of the Barossa's most awarded wines. The friendly and relaxed atmosphere at the cellar door will allow you to take the time to taste the extensive range of wines, including some cellar door release only wines. There is a wine to please all palates.

Take the time to enjoy a light lunch featuring some of the Barossa's famous foods, or home made cakes and biscuits. Sip a glass of fine wine or a cappuccino and relax.

The Barossa Valley Golf Club is a 6026 metre par 72 course with an ACR rating of 70.8 and the tees are generous and well made. The fairways seem generous but the rough can be punishing and some well-placed bunkers guard the fairways and greens.

Players have use of the practice tee, fairway, large putting green, practice bunker and chipping green.

Because of its delightful bush country setting, this spacious golf course can give a feeling of truly 'being away from it all'.

Just to walk the course is a delight with a chance to see much of the local bird and animal life.

The course is a one-hour drive north of Adelaide, and is in close proximity to a variety of accommodations and many famous wineries.

The resident Professional has a well-stocked shop full of the latest equipment. Golf sets and carts are available for hire.

The Schrapel family have owned and operated Bethany Wines for over 150 years.

A small family owned wine business established in 1928 making estate grown wines from a 10 hectare vineyard. Focussing on low yielding, high quality crops, the resulting wines continue to receive critical acclaim within Australia and overseas, with demand constantly outstripping supply.

A visit to the winemaker Rick Burge's Draycott vineyard on the outskirts of Lyndoch is a must for any wine lover serious about the very best the Barossa has to offer in terms of single vineyard estate wines.

Winemaker Charles Melton and his partner Virginia Weckert have specialised in the production of limited release, premium red wines made from Barossa grapes since 1984. It was in the mid 1980's that Charlie and a small band of Barossa winemakers turned their winemaking efforts to what was then considered a couple of unfashionable varieties, Shiraz and Grenache.

With these varieties, Charlie built a small range of classic dry reds including a Grenache/Shiraz/Mourvedre blend called the Nine Popes. Initially these wines were styled on those from the Rhone, but are now considered leading examples of the varieties in their own right.

However, Charles Melton is not confined to full bodied reds alone. They also produce a light red - The Rose of Virginia, and a unique traditional Australian style Sparkling Red and have added a new member, Sotto di Ferro, which is a Vin Santo style desert wine.

These wines exhibit richness and finesse that are the hallmarks of the Barossa's finest wines. They have always attracted national and international recognition. Enduring commitment to dry farmed vineyard and careful crafting of the wine will ensure this continues.

Chateau Dorrien offers an experience not to be missed when you visit the Barossa Valley. Walk through an almost 100-year-old building that still has original concrete wine vats in tact, craft section and Heritage Gallery. A local Barossa Valley artist has lovingly painted in mural form the Settlement of the Barossa Valley and the winemaking technique from the beginning to the present day on seven vats, it is a delight for historians, school groups and general tourists.

Chateau Tanunda is steeped in history. Built in 1890 from bluestone quarried at nearby Bethany, it's an awe-inspiring place to visit, combining historic winery buildings and a stunning cellar door. The building is surrounded by vineyards and beautifully landscaped gardens, a great place to stop and relax while in the valley.

The cellar door offers the chance to try the full Chateau Tanunda wine range while surrounded by a thousand oak barrels of maturing wine. You can also enjoy a platter while you sit outside or by the open fire. Stroll outside the cellar door to the stunning croquet green and have a go at this wonderful old game. Comfortable outdoor seating is available for those of you who prefer to relax away your day.

Within the historic building on the top floor are elegant and atmospheric conference and function facilities.

Clonlea Recreation Park was the home of the first Gawler settlers and today is a large recreation park. The ground is mostly open grassland; it is interestingly contoured and one can look down from its centre on the river below and the river red gums on its banks.

Facilities include two public tennis courts (the nets are always up), country style oval, barbecue, picnic areas, walking trails, children's playground, parking areas and toilets.

The Clubhouse welcomes members and non-members to dine in our regionally themed dining room or The Clubhouse Bar. Our menu offers an extensive a la carte selection-featuring premium South Australian steak, seafood and pub favourites. There is a choice of daily specials from AUD10.00 and a special children's menu for family dining. In winter months there are warm fires roaring in the dining room and an open fire crackling in the Bar, with ducted air conditioning during summer. You are welcome at the Clubhouse, with Barossa wines available by the glass or bottle.

Elderton Wines is a small family owned and operated winery, situated in the heart of the Barossa. The Elderton vineyard, which was planted around 1900 by Samuel Elderton Tolley, was purchased by the Ashmead family in the late 1970's and started producing labelled bottled estate wine from the 1982 harvest.

After a decade of hard work, the winery short to prominence in the early 1990's, after winning the prestigious Jimmy Watson Trophy at the 1993 Melbourne Wine Show. Fernfield Wines is an exclusive family owned and operated boutique winery situated in the pioneer homestead of Eden Valley. Built in 1861 on land and with money donated by George Fife Angas, Friedensberg (Hill of Peace) Schoolroom with Headmaster's residence attached also served for four decades as St Johannes Church for the early Prussian Lutheran pioneer settlers at Springton.

The school was closed in 1917 as a result of the hostilities towards German people during the First World War, and re-opened in 1995 as an authentic German School Museum with original furniture and fittings and hands-on activities, including writing with pen and ink.

Gibson's Wines is a small family owned winery nestled at the high northern end of the Barossa Valley in South Australia. A specialist producer of limited quantities of premium table wines, it is fast garnering a reputation as a reliable producer of richly flavoured and complex wine.

Rob, Anne and family produce a mere 5000 cases of wine. Fruit is sourced from predominately estate grown fruit with small selections coming from contracted grower fruit for added diversity come blending time.

One of the newest wineries in the Barossa Valley, Glaetzer Wines is a small family owned and operated enterprise, sourcing premium quality dry-land grapes for the creation of full bodied and concentrated varietal wines. The benefits of such a small operation are obvious, each wine having character, personality and the identity of the region, all tended to with a passion to ensure they reach a deservingly high status.

Gnadenfrei Estate’s first vineyard was planted in 1958. The hilltop premises were built in 1978, as the Seppelt family home and cellar door, and opened for wine tasting the following year. The vineyard comprises five acres Shiraz, one acre Grenache and one acre of mixed reds: Pinot Noir, Pinot Meuniere, Malbec and Merlot.

A range of premium red table wines are available for tastings and sales, along with home made jams, mustards and sauces.

Gomersal Wines Cellar Door is pure Australiana. Views of eucalypts, rolling pastures, vineyards and the reedy line of Gomersal Creek can be seen from the huge verandah that wraps around the tasting room. Grant Burge Wines - a proud Barossa winery dedicated to crafting award-winning wines.

Greenock Creek Wines is situated at Seppeltsfield in the rolling hills between the hamlets of Greenock and Marananga, on the western edge of the Barossa Valley. The winery's first release was in 1988, when it sold a 1986 Shiraz and a 1988 Chardonnay from its tiny cellar door situated beneath the Waugh's 150 year old stone cottage.

Since then the winery has planted, grafted or acquired more vines, and now specialises in premium red wine production. Only grapes grown on the property are used, making it truly an estate winery. The range of wines includes five Shiraz, two Cabernet Sauvignons and a Grenache, all processed at the winery on the Waugh’s Roennfeldt Road property.

The wines are released each year in early September and are sold through cellar door, mail order, a selected number of retail outlets in Australia and a small quantity via export.

Winery is only open for three or four months each year from early September to November-December until yearly wine release is sold out.

Harrys Restaurant sits within the Novotel Barossa Valley Resort and offers a tempting array of Barossa produce designed to entice even the most discerning connoisseur.

Hartz Barn Wines is a family operated vineyard and wine enterprise based in the village of Moculta, Eden Valley, Barossa region of South Australia. The home of Hartz Barn Wines has supported the families of the district as a General Store (known as Hentschke General Store) since 1885 offering an extensive range of goods and services.

Heathvale Wines was established in 1859 and owners Trevor and Faye March reside in the original home. Heathvale produced wine until the early 1900's when production was phased out in favour of fruit growing.

The vineyards were re-established in 1986-87 and current crush is 30 tonnes. Vineyard tours and private tastings are part of the experience.

Trevor is a retired lecturer in viticulture so you will undoubtedly get a lesson in viticulture.

Keyneton in the Eden Valley region in which the Henschke Cellars are situated, is recognised as one of the great wine producing areas in the country. Mediterranean climate, old vines, high altitude and deep loam soils contribute to the superb quality and longevity of the wines. The Henschke Cellars, which today is operated by the fifth generation of the family, Stephen Henschke, has a proud heritage and philosophy for outstanding quality wines.

Henschke Cellars has a small cellar door catering for a limited number of visitors, larger groups please phone prior to arrival.

Heritage Wines was established in 1984 and is located at Marananga, in the Barossa Valley, South Australia surrounded by 20 acres of estate grown vines, carefully nurtured by owner/winemaker Steve Hoff and his wife Christine.

A true advocate of the Barossa, Steve is committed to producing exceptional quality varietal wines with emphasis on regional fruit characteristics and unique big-hearted Barossa styles. Nestled amongst the Barossa Ranges, this rugged park is perfect for keen bushwalkers. There are two walking trails passing through a variety of landscapes including creeks, rocky outcrops, areas of low forest, scrub and open grassland. The park has panoramic views over the ranges to the Barossa Valley and the distant Gulf St Vincent. Both trails identify native plants and points of interest, as well as offering the chance to observe kangaroos in their natural setting.

Evenings and early mornings are the best time to observe the park’s birdlife. Kangaroos feed on the open grasslands, while the occasional Echidna or possum may be seen foraging for food at dusk.

The park is visited by many native birds such as Wedge-tailed Eagles, Blue Wrens, parrots, honeyeaters, finches and thornbills. However, the park is too small to sustain many bird species and every year sees further declines in their diversity and abundance.

The Kies family came to Australia in 1857 from Germany. Now fifth generation their Estate grown fruit and award winning wines are offered for tasting at the historic cottage cellar door. The Kingsford Hotel, in the heart of Gawler, opened for business in 1851. Today, it still operates from the original building, which is on the Register of the National Estate. The Kingsford is a great place for lunch or dinner. The 'Stonegrill' option is an exciting way to enhance the flavour of superb Fillet Steaks. The hotel also features an exciting sports bar with TAB, Keno and gaming facilities.

Family owned and operated, Langmeil is believed to be the home of the Barossa and Australia's oldest known surviving vineyard planted to Shiraz in 1843, where the iconic 'Freedom 1843 Shiraz' hails.

Peter Lehmann Wines Cellar Door is situated in Tanunda on the banks of the North Para River. It is set amongst tall red gums, sweeping lawns and colourful displays of flowers. Inside the cellar door a cosy, open fire welcomes visitors on cold days. A large red gum bar dominates the room along the old ironstone building. Original paintings from our Barossa series wine labels decorate the walls, along with works from renowned local artist Rod Schubert. Our team of people are friendly, knowledgeable accommodating.

Over the years a reputation for making quality wines and releasing them under the Peter Lehmann, Stonewell, Mentor, Eight Songs, and Clancy labels at affordable prices has developed. Peter Lehmann Wines have received five International Wine Sprit Competition trophies for "Best in the World".

The Seppelt family has been making wine for more than 150 years and Peter Seppelt is the fifth generation to continue the winemaking tradition. Visit their estate and cellar door.

Set in rolling hills, the vineyards all have a north-easterly aspect giving maximum exposure to the sunlight. Conditions are ideal for the production of high quality wines. Old stone buildings on the Estate have been restored and new ones added to make the property historically authentic.

The wine grapes are picked from our property and made into wine on site using traditional methods. The vineyards are planted at an altitude of 450 metres and are cool by comparison to most of South Australia's vineyards.

The Greenock Aviation Museum is a private collection of preserved aircraft, replica aircraft, restoration projects, scale model aircraft, and general aviation memorabilia.

Included in the museum is the largest public display of 1/72 scale model aircraft in the Southern Hemisphere, with over 1400 models displayed in glass cabinets surrounding the walls of the museum.

Cockpit sections in the museum include a partially restored Boomerang, several CAC Wirraway sections in varying degrees of restoration, Fairy Battle two-seat bomber/trainer with engine, Avro Anson Mk 1, Airspeed Oxford Mk 1 and De Havilland Mosquito. The Herbig Family Tree is a large, hollow red gum tree at Springton. It is estimated to be 300 to 500 years old with a diameter of seven metres at its base and a height of 24 metres. A small stream runs nearby.

The tree was the first Australian home of 27 year old Friedrich Herbig who arrived in South Australia in 1855. In 1858 he married 18 year old Caroline Rattey and took her to live in the tree home. The first two of their 16 children were born there. In 1860 he built a two roomed pine and pug hut nearby, and as his family increased, built a stone cottage adjacent to the hut.

Today the Herbig Family Tree represents a graphic link to early European settlement of the area. Herbig family reunions are held at the tree, usually every five years, contact us for more information.

Step back in time with our Coopers while you watch them producing quality hand crafted port and spirit kegs. Our coopers use the age-old authentic techniques and traditional tools of keg making. The Keg Factory uses material from 60 - 80 year old American and French oak port barrels. The old oak gives richness and character to fortified wines.

A miniature barrel from The Keg Factory is an authentic piece of bar furniture. The kegs impart the quality of old, matured oak to your Port, Sherry, Muscat or Spirit, speeding up the maturation process, producing mellow beverages.

Visit Tom Lucieer's remarkable collection of Lego models when next in the Barossa Valley.

The collection is one of Australia's largest private Lego collections, located in the charming town of Angaston, enjoyed by children, the technically minded, train enthusiasts and the young at heart. This collection has everything from space stations to racing cars, a circus, a zoo, a medieval castle complete with knights and drawbridge and model T cars. The Lego collection is worth approximately AUD90,000 and includes almost all models produced by Lego, with some made as early as 1959. The majority of Tom's Lego has been purchased locally from the Community Store in Nuriootpa. The collection is housed in a large display area at the rear of his home.

The highlight however is the set of trains which whiz around permanent tracks in the traditional way of model railways.

Visitors preferably to arrive by 2pm as it takes at least one hour to see collection.

At Trevor Jones Fine Wines Cellar Door you can enjoy some of the finest panoramic views of the southern Barossa Valley and Mount Lofty Ranges. The cellar door and visitor centre building is constructed from mud brick and some of the oldest recycled timbers in South Australia.

Viking Wines is one of the smaller wine enterprises in the heart of Marananga, Barossa Vallley.

The estate is a biodynamic dry-grown vineyard. The wines extracted from such grapes produces the full flavour of a true Barossa red, reflecting the distinct characters of the rich soil and sun-drenched vineyards of the pristine area of Marananga.

Vinified by the new generation, the fruit is hand-picked, open fermented, and gently basket-pressed, followed by maturation in American and French oak. Slowly racked over time, and finally bottled after approximately 20 months, it's a benchmark wine with great personality.

Whistler Wines was founded to produce premium wines from grapes grown only at Heysen Estate in the heart of the famous Barossa Valley. In keeping with our contemporary approach to viticulture and wine styles, yet retaining the tradition of our Barossa heritage, the cellar door tasting area takes the shape of an old German style cottage built of modern materials.

The vineyard is sited on land originally settled by German immigrants during the 1840s, and is surrounded by other significant vineyards producing some of Australia's best wines.
