Established in 1997, the project is centred within a unique 123 square kilometre fenced reserve from which all feral cats, rabbits and foxes have been eradicated providing for the reintroduction of locally extinct species and rehabilitation of natural habitat to restore ecosystem.

We operate from Coward Springs Campground on the Oodnadatta Track and our camels are an experience in store for you. They are gentle, well-trained animals and easy to get to know. All safaris travel with two strings of camels. We sometimes also take our camel-drawn wagon, which makes it easy for families and the less fit. We either travel as the crow flies or follow bush tracks such as old station tracks and beside the ‘Old Ghan’ railway line. All you need to bring is your personal gear and the camels carry everything. This means you can walk and explore or birdwatch with just your daypack but there are always camels available for riding.

Cruising Kangaroo Island Kayak Tours utilise very safe, stable and unsinkable kayaks. Our activities operate in sheltered waters making this a holiday experience everyone can enjoy. All kayaking equipment is supplied including life jackets.

We specialise in small groups of less than six, with double and single kayaks available. Due to the design of our kayaks and the waters we paddle, you will often only get your feet wet.
