Berry Agricultural and Horticultural Show

The Berry Agricultural and Horticultural Show will be held at the Berry showground in February.
Events include: dairy and beef cattle, horse and trotting events, wood chopping, poultry, Angora goats, alpacas, championship dog show, animal nursery and pet show.
Exhibitions will be provided by spinning and weaving groups, pavilion exhibits, the Berry Band, hay bale stacking, rodeo and the dog high-jump contest which is open to all breeds.
The very popular Beaut Utes competition will be followed by a parade of all utes around the Showground ring.
A totally new addition to the arena will be domestic ride-on lawn mower racing with classes being circuit racing, mini tractor pull and go-to-whoa. This should be really good fun for both competitors and spectators, so get involved and dust the cobwebs off the old ride-on for a fun time
Fireworks will be the Grand Finale on Saturday night.

The Kangaroo Valley Show is a good example of a rural show and features the stock and produce as well as the cooking and crafts of a small country town.
Attractions include: cattle, horse and dog events, poultry, produce, flowers, handcrafts and cooking displays, the wood chopping competition, iron person competition, talent quest, sideshows, rides and parachutists from Albatross.
A rodeo is held on the Saturday evening on the completion of ring events.

Merimbula Jazz Festival

The Merimbula Jazz Festival has been held every June long weekend since 1981 involving approximately 150 bands, 700 musicians playing all styles of jazz from trad, ragtime, big bands, swing, mainstream, modern and funk.
The Festival events are conducted in seven venues-- within one modern hotel and three modern clubs . Venues include the Lakeview Hotel, Merimbula RSL Club , Pambula- Merimbula Golf Club and Club Sapphire ( Merimbula Imlay Bowling Club ). All venues are wheel chair accessible and provide food and drinks within the dining rooms or small snacks also available.

The Netti MTB Enduro incorporates: The Angry Doctor - A 100 kilometre loop, with close to 70 kilometres of single track and narrow fire trail providing a wild, whooping and challenging ride. The Irate Intern - A 50 kilometre loop. The Nasty Nurse Prologue - An 11 kilometre loop open to anyone. Maybe you are just coming to support your mate and want to have a try - this is your chance! Participants will go off at 30 second intervals - you will be able to book a time in advance or just show up and enter on the day. There will be spectator vantage points for those who simply want to see how fit, enthused people spend a day on their cycles....

Sapphire Coast Orchid Club Australian Native Orchid and Bonsai Show

The South Coast Orchid Club presents a specialist orchid show for Australian Native Sarcanthinae Orchids although other orchids in flower at the time will be on show. Sarcanthinae are principally Australian native orchids from the rainforests and rocky ravines. Whilst their flowers are small they are very prolific, ranging in colour from crystalline white through pinks to deep reds. This will be a spectacular show of these seldom seen orchids with typically 150 plants on show. As an additional interest a prominent local bonsai expert, David Hoff, will display his spectacular collection and will be on hand to explain the finer points of the art of Bonsai. Sales of both orchids and bonsai will be available but be early.

The Spring Orchid Show at Bega is an annual event on the Sapphire Coast and follows the Winter Orchid Show in Merimbula. This show has a strong Cymbidium class but is a showplace for Australian Native orchids. These are well supported by a large variety of other exotic orchids that are in flower at this time of the year. Entry is free and there is a sales table where club members sell plants excess to their needs. It’s a great place to pick up quality plants at very reasonable cost but be early.

The Sapphire Coast Orchid Club's Winter Show is the most spectacular orchid show on the New South Wales far South Coast and will be held at Twyford Hall in Merimbula. With hundreds of spectacular blooms on display this annual event attracts growers from all over the south coast vying for the coveted awards. Cymbidium orchids are at their best at this time of the year, and visitors can see state of the art blooms on show. Along with the rapidly expanding Australian native orchid section there are many other exotic varieties of orchids on show. Potting demonstrations and tips on orchid culture will be given by some of the South Coast’s top orchid growers. The South Coast Wine Show takes place in January of each year at the Milton Showground. It is a showcase for wines from the South Coast Zone which incorporates the Shoalhaven Coast and Southern Highlands wine regions. The Show includes a public tasting evening after the official judging. In 2009, almost two hundred people including locals and visitors to the area for the Australia Day weekend attended and tasted entries from vineyards and wineries of the zone and both regions. There were 144 entries from 21 Vineyards and Wineries (7 Southern Highlands Wine Region, 10 Shoalhaven Coast Wine Region and 4 South Coast Zone). Medals Awarded: Gold - 7, Silver - 21 and Bronze - 44
Ulladulla Blessing Of The Fleet Festival

Fishing is an important element of Ulladulla's economy and the Blessing of the Fleet is an honoured tradition kept alive by the area's descendants of the original Italian fishing community and by the proud town in general. There are a myriad of colourful and exciting events held throughout the Festival over the Easter weekend and beyond, including the Blessing of the Fleet main street parade and day of entertainment on Easter Sunday. This true family festival will be staged over all three days of Easter holiday but the most significant element will be the actual Blessing of the Fleet, on the morning of Easter Sunday. Come and enjoy the South Coast Maritime and History Expo at the Ulladulla Civic Centre on Easter Saturday and Sunday The festivities will conclude with a magnificent fireworks display, over Ulladulla Harbour on Easter Sunday. There is also the Harbour Markets on Easter Monday.
