Annual Bredbo Ute Muster

Bredbo Ute Committee is pleased to announce the seventh annual Bredbo Ute Muster. Categories include: Best Feral Ute, Best Chicks Ute, Best B & S Ute, Best Beverage Ute and Best Overall Ute.
There will be a grand parade for the winners. There will be entertainment throughout the day. Activities include a boot throwing competition, whip cracking, egg throwing, red faces comp and on Sunday they have a Ute to Blow Up and a live auction.
No alcohol to be brought inside the premises as there is plenty on sale with their great sponsorship from Carlton and Toomey’s.

The Bombala Markets are held on the first Saturday of every month at the Imperial Hotel.
They attract stalls offering a mix of fresh local produce, art and craft, Trash and Treasure, jams, biscuits and more. The markets are sponsored by the Imperial Hotel and Black Inc. Theatre.
Occasionally, a variety of workshops are held in conjunction with the markets and the organisers are looking at expending the range of activities available. The Bombala Markets are 'all weather' markets with the Imperial Hotel offering room inside the hotel if the weather isn't fine.

The annual Bombala Show is a truly traditional country show which offers a unique experience for people of all ages showcasing the areas produce and country hospitality.
This wonderful day and night event is jam-packed with attractions including traditional livestock exhibits and Art and Craft displays. The pavilion is brimming with homemade cakes, preserves, floral displays, paintings and needlework to name but a few.
Other great attractions include the Bombala Show Girl, Yard Dog Trials, Historic Engineer and Machinery displays and trade exhibits. The Ring events are always well contested.

The first show in 1945 was officially held to raise money to build a Memorial Hall to honour soldiers fighting in the war. This show, described by one involved as “a pretty rough turnout” was followed by several shows that didn’t make any money and where no records were kept. However, the fact that the show has been successfully held every year since then is a tribute to the ingenuity and determination of the small community.

Come and experience this fantastic weekend set on the foreshore of beautiful Lake Jindabyne. Jindabyne Boxing Day Rodeo

This annual event has been running since 1943, originally in Old Jindabyne and now at the 'John Connors' Jindabyne Sports Ground. This year’s rodeo will be a 'Bulls 'n' Barrels' event with gates opening at 11am for a 1pm start. It will be slightly different format to previous rodeos but will be no less of a spectator sport with a predominately Bull Ride show.
It’s always a great day out with the family with side shows, food stalls and bar facilities available.
No alcohol will be allowed through the gate due to strict licensing laws.
Lake Jindabyne Dragon Boat Challenge

Dragon Boat racing is an exciting and competitive watersport which hs been in popularity as a relatively new sport in Australia. The forty foot long dragon boats are brightly painted and decorated with a dragons head and tail. Each cres paddles with a drummer to keep time and a steerer to control the boat. The races are exciting and spectacular to watch. Last years event saw 20 local community teams slog it out for the top price.
The Race is held in conjuction with the Flowing Festival held all weekend.

See the best young riders from the region compete at the Michelago Pony Club's Double Chance Sporting Gymkhana. There are 17 fun and exciting sporting events. Riders have two attempts at each sporting event and only a riders best time counts.
Winner of flag spectacular will be awarded the Man from Snowy River Medallion.
This is the ultimate sporting weekend and a great opportunity to see the upcoming equestrian talent.
Monaro Wool And Wood Festival

The Wool 'n' Wood Festival have been combined with Celebrate Lavender and the Australia Day Celebration; to give a great insight into life in Platypus Country-Bombala Region.
The major industries of the area - wool and wood - showcase what goes in their respective industries with great displays, competitions and information stands. The local lavender group, Monaro Country Lavender, have a stand and demonstrate the ancient art of steam distillation and other specialty producers are also represented.
The Australia Day celebration includes the presentation of the Citizen of the Year Awards and the community event of the year. This year's event will also include a dart's competition and Triathlon. It is an excellent family day outing which celebrates their rural lifestyle.

The Snowy Mountains of Music is a vibrant, new four day music festival held over the June long weekend. The location is the beautiful Perisher Resort in the New South Wales’ Snowy Mountains. The festival will open the 2010 Australian Winter Ski Season with a bang. With over 45 acts and 120 concerts across nine venues, festival-goers can expect to hear some great new sounds from all over Australia. It's an opportunity to soak up the magic of the snow fields whilst listening to some of our best musicians step up to the microphone with a mix of world, folk, roots, Celtic, acoustic, blues, traditional music, song, dance, poetry and yarn spinning.
Snowy Ride

The Snowy Ride is a motorcycle event run annually with the aim of involving motorcycle riders from all over Australia to raise money for Childhood Cancer Research. It's an opportunity for riders to enjoy a weekend away with friends and family and to ride some of Australia's best and most picturesque roads.
How it works is on Saturday you can leave from anywhere, whenever you like, and take whatever route you like as long as you're at the final checkpoint in Thredbo by 4pm. The Snowy Ride checkpoints are located at Adaminaby, Dalgety, Berridale, Jindabyne, Cooma, Bombala, Khancoban, Charlotte Pass and Thredbo.
The first Snowy Ride was launched in 2001 as a request from Steven Walter, a young man who lost his fight against cancer. Steve loved motorcycle riding and asked that a charity motorcycle ride be organised to raise funds for cancer research and cancer care.

Tumbarumba Annual Endurance Ride

The Tumbarumba Endurance Ride is held annually at Easter, at the Tumbarumba Racecourse. The ride is a clover leaf pattern and usually attracts over 100 competitors. The motto of endurance riding is "to finish is to win" as the challenge is for horse and rider to achieve a suitable level of fitness. Horses have to pass regular veterinary checks during the ride.
