Grafton to Inverell International Cycle Classic , Inverell, New South Wales
Grafton to Inverell International Cycle Classic Tours and Attractions This one day event, beginning in Grafton passing through Glen Innes and finishing in Inverell, is a 228 kilometre ride over some of the most demanding terrain in worldwide cycling, starting at 25 metres above sea level and climbing to 1060 metres, then finishing in Inverell at 590 metres.

The Grafton to Inverell is five races in one. A Grade (Elite), Division two and Division three, Ladies, and a new section for Under 19's. The Ladies and Under 19's race goes from Glen Innes to Inverell with a loop through the little village of Elsmore. There is also a Teams event which is becoming very popular. An average of 165 to 170 riders begin the race.

The race is six to seven hours long, depending on weather conditions. The Grafton to Inverell is one of the main events throughout the year in world cycling.
Gunnedah Bird Sale And Expo , Gunnedah, New South Wales
The Gunnedah Bird Sale and Expo has been running for eight years and has grown to be the biggest sale in Australia.

Last year there were 3,300 birds and 135 exhibitors and a crowd of over 2,000 attended coming from as far as Townsville in the north, Perth in the west and Melbourne in the south as well as New Zealand in the east! There were 27 trade stands selling everything from seed, aviaries, nest boxes, books, medications and many other bird related products.

A must for the bird enthusiast!
Gunnedah Show , Gunnedah, New South Wales
Commonly called the "Royal" of the north-west. Renowned for equestrian events livestock and produce exhibits. Great country show atmosphere, consistently draws the best entries and contestants from country New South Wales to participate in events held.

Other activities held include: arts, craft and homemade goods, photography competition and display, lots of stalls, giant fireworks display and sideshow alley. A rodeo is held in the showgrounds in conjunction with the show.
Helicopter Hoedown , Inverell, New South Wales
Enjoy two days of Bush Poetry, Competitions and Entertainment. Join them at Pioneer Village from 12 noon for Lunch and Laughter in the Big Marquee featuring all the invited artists. Entry fee applies - these prices give access to the village displays. Spend the afternoon being entertained. Poetry competitions will also be held thought out the afternoon, and a barbecue lunch will be available.

Stay on into the night for the Gala Performance Night commencing at 6.00pm, featuring some of the best bush poets and musicians in the country. Ticket includes a two course roast meal.

Take dad along for the Fathers Day Bush Brekky at Pioneer Village on Sunday from 8.30am entry to the village and marquee (entry fee applies). Watch all their featured artists perform again, and then stick around for the open mike session.

All profits from the weekend go to the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service.
Inverell Show Society Annual Show , Inverell, New South Wales
This agricultural Inverell Annual Show is held annually over three days.

Events include: Local produce, arts and crafts, a shearing competition, Demolition Derby, Beaut Ute Competition and much more. Horse events and a rodeo are also conducted. Side show alley is always fun with many rides and general entertainment.

Fireworks on Saturday night commence at 9.15pm.
Inverells Australia Day Celebration , Inverell, New South Wales

This annual, off-road, fundraising event raises money for Kidney Health Australia, in particular for the Kidney Kid's Camp.

Minerama Fossicking and Gem Show , Glen Innes, New South Wales
Minerama is run by a voluntary community committee with the aim of fostering all facets of the lapidary hobby. Well over 50 traders come to Minerama each year, with the larger commercial traders taking up space in the auditorium of the Services Club (RSL) and the smaller hobby traders setting up outside.

Everything connected with the lapidary hobby can be seen and bought here, such as: fossils, minerals, uncut and cut gems, jewellery, findings, machinery, grinders, sanders, tumblers, grits, polishes and books.

Food and drink are available inside the club as well as a barbeque and drink tent outside run by Minerama volunteers which becomes the social centre early in the evening when visitors gather to say hello and meet others of similar interests.

Stay for a few days and make the most of the different field trips on offer. Glen Innes district has in the past been a large tin and sapphire producer. Other minerals of note are quartz, both clear and smoky, bismuth, wolfram, beryl, topaz, zircon, garnet and arsenopyrite.

Feature stationery motor is the Lister, and it will also showcase Crawler Dozers and Tractors. More than 100 swap sites have been booked.

The Rally will see the 650 metre miniature railway again running with more than six trains on the track. Visit the Blacksmith’s shop and the village’s excellent coffee shop.

Watch the Tractor Pull and the judging of the Scarecrow competition! See local arts and crafts displays. There will also be a Rally dinner, including live entertainment on the Saturday night.

Wee Waa Show , Wee Waa, New South Wales
Wee Waa's annual show is renowned for featuring some of the western plains' of New South Wales’ finest sheep and cattle. It is also famous for the wonderful floral exhibits in the pavilion.

Each year, "Fashions in the Pen" is a special segment of Wee Waa's show. Fashion designers from far and wide submit creative entries made from wool or cotton. These are judged and shown in several fashion shows over the duration of the two day event.
