Abercrombie River National Park , Oberon, New South Wales
The Abercrombie River National Park presents a great opportunity to leave it all behind and get back to basics. Situated between Oberon and Taralga along the fully sealed Tablelands Way, the park offers swimming, canoeing, fishing, and exploring the native flora and fauna.

Car-based camping is available at Silent Creek, The Sink (Retreat River), The Beach (Abercrombie River) and Bummaroo Ford. A 4WD is required for all sections of the park with the exception of Bummaroo Ford. Drivers should be experienced and drive according to the conditions. It is recommended that visitors check weather conditions and fire bans prior to visiting the park.

There are pit toilets, but no other facilities. It is recommended visitors take adequate drinking water and fuel.

Domestic animals and firearms are not permitted.

The first Sunday of each month a representative from the Show Cased Wine of the Month host the tasting. Local produce is also available for trial on these days. All wines are from the Central West Tablelands. Some of these areas are Mudgee, Bathurst, Orange, Megalong Valley, Cowra and Rylstone.

Located at the end of Hat Hill Road in the Grose Valley, this weathered sandstone rock formation offers magnificent views over the Grose Valley to Mt Banks and Mt Hay. Wind eroded Cave is just 400 metres to the west. Dirt road access for two kilometres.

The original cottage was built by Ben Robert in 1893 and was occupied by tradesmen such as the local boot-maker and coal merchant. Now fully renovated with a modern cafe decorated with owner’s artworks with seating for 50 inside and out.

The attached gallery exhibitions change every three weeks with various featured artists. During the opening of exhibitions various mountains musicians and poets are featured.

The cafe is open daily plus Friday and Saturday evenings with tasty hotpots, garden fresh salads, soups, gourmet sandwiches, delicious cakes and Devonshire teas and Danes coffee. A breakfast menu is also available.

Berghofers Pass , Mount Victoria, New South Wales
Berghofers Pass was constructed between 1907 and 1912 and used until 1920 an alternative to Victoria Pass to allow a gradual ascent of the escarpment for early motor vehicles. Today the track allows for a pleasant walk or bike ride with views into the Hartley Valley and opportunity to view the original
convict built rampart supporting the Great Western Highway.

Breenhold Gardens Tours and Attractions The unique Heritage listed garden estate of Breenhold Gardens at Mount Wilson, in the Blue Mountains, is one of the most extensive privately owned garden properties in Australia. Breenhold comprises over 45 hectares of luxuriant gardens, parkland and native bushland.

Over the past 40 years several thousand exotic and indigenous trees and flowering shrubs have been planted. Northern hemisphere elms, pines, cedars, cypresses and dogwood, rhododendons and azalea terraces blend with native tree ferns and towering eucalypts. Six individual stone walled gardens, several with pools, are focus points of Breenhold.

A series of pine forest windbreaks extending over a kilometre adjacent to the National Park provide protection for the gardens. This outer area features a number of terraced bush trails and forest walks which contrast to the more formal gardens on the plateau above, and provide the visitor a number of easy and pleasant bush walks.

There are also stunning views over the adjoining Blue Mountains National Park from several of Breenhold's lookouts.

Eskbank House Museum , Lithgow, New South Wales
Eskbank House Museum Tours and Attractions Eskbank House Museum in Lithgow is a historic home, with splendid furniture, display of Lithgow Pottery and other period pieces, blacksmiths forge and a coach-house.

Built in 1842 by Thomas Brown, Eskbank House is a sandstone building in the Georgian style. The four front rooms have been preserved much as they were in Thomas Brown's day, and contain some beautiful regency and early Victorian furniture.

The museum has an extensive collection of Lithgow Pottery, memorabilia and photographs of early Lithgow as well as static steam engine display. The gardens contain a stone stable and coach house and an unusual stone hexagon garden shed and picnic area available to use.
Euroka Picnic Area , Glenbrook, New South Wales
Euroka Picnic Area is popular spot for day use and overnight camping area (permits required). The park is situated in the eastern part of Blue Mountains National Park. Five areas make up Euroka and grey kangaroos that were introduced into the area in 1968 can be seen. The area holds special significance to the local Daruk community. Blue Gums, Forest Red Gums and Rough Barked Apple are all found in the area along with access to several bushwalks.

terrain from limestone outcrops to sandstone escarpments. The pagoda rock

The park has no facilities apart from a few fire trails which provide short

Road.

Ben Bullen, This section of the park is accessible via 4WD trail that extends
from the Mudgee Road at Ben Bullen to the Wolgan Road, it provides access to
Baal Bone Gap.

From Echo Point a concrete path provides access to The Three Sisters and the Giant Stairway which was constructed between 1909 and 1932. The
Stairway follows a ledge around to the First Sister, then doubles back onto the cliff face and zig zags down the cliff some 896 steps before reaching the
valley floor on Dardanelles Pass which leads to the Federal Pass. From here walkers have the choice of continuing along the Federal Pass to Katoomba
Falls, Furber Steps and Scenic World or in the opposite direction to Leura Forest.

Glow Worm Tunnel , Lithgow, New South Wales
Glow Worm Tunnel Tours and Attractions The Glow Worms are located in an old rail tunnel 400 metres in length. It was originally constructed as part of the railway line to Newnes Kerosene Shale
Works. The line was dismantled c1940s. The tunnel is located 40 kilometres from Lithgow on the Newnes Plateau. Good walking shoes and a torch are required for the walk through the tunnel.

The glow worms found in the tunnel are the larvae of the fungus gnat. The blue glow, of the larvae is the result of a chemical reaction in the body of the
glowworm. The larvae’s' glow lures their prey - such as mosquito’s closer to them.

Hartley Historic Site Tours and Attractions The need for a police centre in the Hartley Valley led to the construction of the Hartley Court House in 1837. Over the next 50 years a bustling village
grew around the court house. The area was the judicial and administrative centre, with churches and accommodation, a post office and staging facilities.
It served both travellers and settlers west of the Blue Mountains.

In 1887 the village was surpassed by the Great Western Railway, resulting in stagnation and decline. In 1972 the site was declared as an historic site under the Management of the National Parks and Wildlife Service.

The Kedumba Drawing Award was first presented in 1990, and is now considered the premier event for drawing in Australia with a $20,000 acquisitive award for 24 invited artists.

Every year it is enhanced through works acquired from the Annual Kedumba Drawing Award and by donations and acquisitions approved by the Trustee.

children's playground and a walking track with gates into the adjacent reserve are situated below the Lake Oberon spillway. There are no boats
allowed in the park.

to cross the Blue Mountains the track was constructed in 1824 and was the only access route into Hartley Vale. The road was closed in 1832 when the
