Please refer to the table below when you need to pay road tolls for your rental car whilst driving through Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane. Paying the toll is not the easiest task sometimes if you are using several toll roads in one trip.

Brisbane or Queensland does however have a new system, from 12 April 2010 Queensland Motorways announced an improvement on one of the govia.com.au pass options which is apparently "an ideal choice for visitors to south-east Queensland" allowing users to travel on Gateway Motorway, Logan Motorway and the Clem 7 Tunnel without the need to contact each of the toll operators or to open a toll payment account.

Be careful with tolls on rentals cars, the tolls can often catch up with you months later with the added processing fees of the toll company and the car rental company often being more than the toll itself.

If you are contacting a toll road operator, ask them why you have to pay the full toll in instances when there is roadwork on the toll way!
