Great hotel for a quick stop over with airport shuttle, 24 hour dining and broadband internet access.

2. All Seasons Kingsgate Hotel Melbourne (3 star)
Basic accommodation, most rooms with shared facilities. Appeals to the backpacker crowd.

3. Mercure Grosvenor Hotel Adelaide (3.5 star)
Location, location, location

4. Mercure Hotel Welcome Melbourne (3.5 star)
Another superbly located Mercure hotel with direct access into Myer... one for the shopaholic.

5. Four Points by Sheraton Darling Harbour (4 star)
Australia's largest hotel with 630 rooms, all with fantastic city or water views.

6. The Victoria Hotel Melbourne (3.5 star)
Character without the cost. There are plans to restore this hotel to its former glorious self.

7. Oaks Goldsbrough Apartments Sydney (4 star)
Apartments with everything; full size kitchens, proper hairdryers, the real deal... oh and great views!

8. Goodearth Hotel Perth (3.5 star)
Offers a diverse range of rooms from dorm style to executive apartments. Decor is a little tired though.

9. Courtyard by Marriott Surfers Paradise (4.5 star)
Can't get much closer to Cavill Avenue than this! Spacious rooms. Great for large families (4+ ppl).

10. Hotel Ibis Brisbane (3.5 star)
Deserves more than a 3.5 star rating since its major refurbishment. Excellent buffet breakfast.
