Location
The hotel is located on the tree-lined Prinsengracht, one of Amsterdams most picturesque canals. The Royal Palace on the Dam Square, the main shopping districts and many Museums are all an easy stroll away.

Rooms
All the rooms are typically Dutch and beautifully decorated although they vary in size from small to medium, however, they have been beautifully renovated in 2000 and most have wooden floors or beamed ceilings, heavy wood furniture and are in exceptional condition. The bathrooms are also in exceptional condition and are quite stunning, with beige, chequered marble floor and sink and an arch over the bath with a crest on the wall overlooking the bath adding to the total royal feel that this hotel exudes.

Restaurant
The restaurant is divided into two parts, one with wooden flooring and neutral furnishings and the other with marble floor and bright red, black and white furnishings. There is also a bar which is very swish with dark blue and black decor but very comfortable and inviting and it also boasts a very "trendy" cigar room and is extremely popular with the locals and along with the restaurant, is not typical of a hotel bar.

General
Since its renovation in 2000, this is one of the best deluxe hotels in Amsterdam with one of the best locations, and best bedrooms, suitable for even the most discerning traveller.

This hotel is situated in the oldest part of Amsterdam in the very heart of the city, overlooking Central station, a few minutes away from the main entertainment and shopping area, also the financial district.

Rooms
Many of the rooms are located in the restored 17th and 18th century part of the hotel with its original oak beams and rafters. They vary quite a lot in shape and size due to the age of the building, but are on average medium to large. They are decorated in typical Dutch style with dark wooden furniture, cosy armchairs and contrasting patterned fabrics and furnishings. Bathrooms are on the whole of medium size and modern.

Restaurant
The hotel has a Michelin restaurant called "Vermeer" which serves a la carte food in a very formal but relaxed surrounds. There is also a Dutch brown cafe in typical local style, and an elegant cocktail lounge with original fireplaces. There is also the Hudson, which serves food all day and is located in the lobby and where breakfast is served. The hotel bar has recently been renovated and is now very modern with modern seating, lighting and relaxing music and serves cocktails as well as beer, wine etc.

The standard rooms are located in the main building and are medium to large in size. They are modern in style with traditional touches, and along with the bathrooms are in very good condition. The business rooms which are located in the court wing are decorated with dark furnishings and fabrics whereas the executive rooms in the royal wing are very modern with marble effect bathrooms.

Restaurant
This is very grand and elegant with a high glass ceiling and surrounding palm trees. Both breakfast and lunch are served here. There is also a Japanese restaurant and "le Reflet" which is a gastronomic restaurant decorated in rich gold colours.
