The city of Kanchanaburi is located at the intersection of Kwai Noi and Kwai Nai River in Thailand. The city’s main attraction is its Bridge over the River Kwai. Other popular sites are the Death Railway to Myanmar and the city’s many museums having to do with World War II. Many people who seek a getaway from the city of Bangkok come to the city for relaxation. From the city, there is access to waterfalls and national parks. The city has one main road, Saeng Chuto Road, which connects the River Kwai Bridge to the train station and the bus station. This makes orienting oneself with the city very easy.
Aside from the museums, the city holds a good number of temples. Some noteworthy temples are Wat Tham Mungkornthorng, Wat Tham Khao Noi, Wat Ban Tham, What Tham Khaopoon, Kuan Yum, Wat Tham Sua, Giant Tree, and the Don Chedi Archaeological Site. From the Death Railway to Myanmar, visitors are able to see Erawan Falls. The biggest tourist area of the region is Tiger Temple or Wat Pa Lua Tu Bua where admission starts at 600 baht per head. Here, you can watch tigers from a distance and even get a chance to have a picture with one for an extra 1,000 baht.
