Somerset St Georges Terrace Perth guest reviews

Nestled right at Perth’s CBD, the Somerset St. Georges Terrace welcomes the holiday makers and the business travellers alike. Popular attractions abound within its vicinity including financial institutions so those who visit Perth for work or for sightseeing are sure to find the hotel accessible and comfortable to stay in.

While you're there

Walking through the famed 150 bronze tablets lining the streets, you will find yourself a hotel that offers comfort and convenience combined. The Somerset St. Georges Terrace is designed with simple yet classy architecture and provides its guests with a concierge, a business centre, and fast internet connectivity. Its 84 well-appointed accommodations range from studio, suite and one-bedroom apartment type bedrooms that are built for ease and relaxation. Lounge and work areas are also part of the rooms to suit the business-related traveller. The feel of a home is further exemplified by a home entertainment system and a kitchenette that is furnished with a microwave oven, toaster, refrigerator, and a dishwasher. Other amenities include conference rooms, business centre services, and basement parking. A gym facility is available close to the hotel.

While you’re there, the Perth Exhibition and Convention Centre, Perth Bell Tower, Cultural Centre, Kings Park, and the Hay and Murray Street shopping malls are interesting places to visit, which are a short five-minute walk from the hotel. Restaurants and bars also abound within the vicinity so there is really no dull moment staying in this part of the city. If you wish to visit other parts of Perth, the bus and train stations are also easily accessible. For sightseeing tours, the hotel has provided some exciting packages for the enjoyment and convenience of its guests.

What to look out for

Location and customer service were highly regarded, and most guests mentioned that the staff was very courteous and accommodating to their requests. Couples and business travellers gave positive feedback on the comfortable beds and work desks, respectively. However, some visitors did not find this true and remarked that the rooms were dated and the bathrooms needed maintenance. Television sets were reportedly old and had poor reception. The hotel manager has quickly responded to these comments and had assured its guests that the Somerset had started its renovations late last year and has resumed with its second stage of renovations early this year. It is in the interest of the management and staff to better serve its customers and their service relies greatly on their guests’ feedback.

Other concerning issues were on limited parking and lack of facilities such as a gym and pool. Management has expressed its apologies and hopes that guests understand that the location of the hotel right within the busy streets of Perth makes it quite inaccessible for these facilities but has recommended a well-equipped fitness centre nearby. On the other hand, majority of the guests have recommended the Somerset and were sure to book here again because of the convenience, comfort, and safety that it has provided through the years.

Designed with modern facilities for work and comfort, Somerset St. Georges Terrace Perth Residences, is an ideal accommodation choice for business and leisure travellers. Notable landmarks of Perth such as The Cloisters, Bibbulmun Track and Woodside Plaza are located at a convenient distance from the property.
