While you're there

The Esplanade Hotel promotes cleanliness and excellent service through its “living a cleaner dream” policy. It collaborates with the Australian government in its efforts to prevent global and climate change. This 4.5 star hotel offers 300 non-smoking and fully-airconditioned suites each offering a splendid view of the park gardens, swimming pools, and the harbour. The Esplanade Hotel houses several world-class restaurants and bars suitable for fine dining, private conversations, or a casual family pizza time. These dining venues can be found in the terrace or just outside, shaded by the palms. International seafood and dessert buffet are available at the Atrium Garden Restaurant.

There is no dull moment staying at the Esplanade. Recreational activities range from parasailing, snorkelling, or sightseeing all within the world-renowned 19th century Fremantle port. Off its coast, the Rottnest Island is a whole different place to discover. You can also go dolphin watching at the Rockingham coastlines. Cruising has never been more exciting with the Carnac Island tour just close to Fremantle. Enjoy the magnificent view of the island and a unique experience of swimming in the company of sea lions. There are also jet rides and dolphin, penguin, and guided walk tours available upon request.

What to look out for

The rooms were praised for their cleanliness and their whole design, saying that they had a historical look but the beds were certainly new and comfortable. There were some complaints coming from guests who stayed at the ground floor across the streets and near the function rooms. Noise was an issue in those areas and also that they were far from the hotel facilities. Some remarked that checking in was rather slow. Management has expressed its apologies and explained that because the Esplanade is usually busy, noise is inevitable, especially with families bringing their kids to enjoy in the pool. They had gone out of their way to upgrade some of the travellers and they appreciated this. As for customer service, the staff and personnel had made clear that they are doing their best efforts at serving their guests the best way they can.

Guest Tips

Choose a room at the upper floors where noise is minimal and those across the Essex Street where there are balconies. The Sandrinos located at the corner of the hotel offers the best oysters and pizza.
