Hotel Description
The Gran Hotel Independencia because of its location and view to Pachucas Monumental Clock in Hidalgo nowadays is proud to have been a witness of years passing by and history when one hears the sound of the clocks bells that speak of their passing through time. In this construction there was what was known as the Don Francisco de Paula Villaldea Count of Casaalta house that goes way back to 1841 when it stopped having a purple color to turn into the Casa de las Diligencias that parted to Mexico City on long journeys of up to eight hours. Later known as the Hotel Grenfell a second floor was added in 1905. Through this building many diligences were spotted at the start of the century on the wide street that served them as a station and their fuel was provided by the shoeshine store at the entrance. This is how the history of such a majestic construction came to be that holds secret and forgotten stories within its walls. Nowadays it is composed of 35 rooms on two floors 17 double rooms and 18 single rooms with services like cable TV hot water carpeted telephone and parking.
