The Shaffer Hotel originally had 33 European style sleeping rooms with no private restrooms. Renovations were completed in 2005 and the hotel reopened in 2006 with 14 modern rooms with private bath and five traditional rooms. For the five remaining traditional rooms without private baths there are two community baths. The hotel is two-story rust colored building with multi colored trim work around the windows and doors. Parking is out front on the main street and on the side of the building. The property includes a garden with gazebo for outside functions and includes a covered picnic patio area with picnic tables. The hotel also has its own banquet room that seats up to 90 guests for a meeting or luncheon. Attached to the property is Pop Shaffers Restaurant open Tuesday-Sunday 7 am n++n++n++ 3 pm. The restaurant was completed in 1931. They offer room service to hotel guest along with catering functions in the banquet room and garden. The hotel also has an added a fire pit out side for the guests to enjoy a night outside next to the fire or to barbeque. Also added are a workout room and a game room which has pool tables and other games for the guests to enjoy. The hotel features 19 rooms. The rooms range from a simple cowboy room (with community bath) to the elegant wedding suite with two claw bathtubs and wet bar. It also feature double suits for families. All rooms are furnished with antique furniture from its time. The hotel was built in 1923. |
