Batemans Bay is a coastal town in New South Wales, Australia. The bay is the closest ocean beach to Australia’s capital city, Canberra. This unspoilt coastline is one of the most spectacular in the region. Because of its coastal location, the bay’s winters are fairly mild, summers are hot, and spring and autumn are pleasant and temperate. The bay can be reached by bus or by plane. The nearest airport, in Moruya, is located 27 km away.

Batemans Bay’s main attractions are its beaches and national parks. Tourists can spend their days cruising up the Clyde River or exploring Mogo for the zoo and some arts and crafts. Plant enthusiasts should visit the Eurobodalla Botanic Gardens and check out the town’s local flora. On the south of Batemans Bay, there is a surf school offering classes for surfers of all levels. This is called the Broulee Surf School. Activities by the beach include swimming, surfing, deep sea fishing, boating, and jet skiing. The waters are usually mild or warm towards the end of summer. There is also a brief period towards the end of spring when waters are temperate and pleasant.
