Albany is the 6th largest city in Western Australia’s Great Southern Region. The city was founded in 1826, three years before Perth was founded. This makes it Western Australia’s oldest continuous settlement. The climate here is Mediterranean, which means it is cool and wet. Although it is fairly easy to get to Albany by car or by bus, there are also daily flights from Perth.

There are lots of things for everyone to see and do. Attractions include Whale World, the Patrick Taylor Cottage Museum, The Princess Royal Fortress, Albany Wind Farm, and the Residency Museum. Around the city, there are many reasonably priced restaurants, cafes, and accommodations. Don’t forget to visit the Albany Farmer’s Market on Collie Street if you are here on a Saturday morning. Also, take a walk on the Mount Clarence Trails for splendid views of the harbour and the town. You might be interested in some nearby attractions. The Rainbow Coast, Stirling Range National Park, and Tondirrup National Park are short drives away.
