Lombok, a coastal island populated by 3.16 million people, is bordered by Lombok Strait on the west and Alas Strait on the east. The largest city on the island is called Mataram, the capital city of the West Nussa Tenggara province. Lombok is a paradise. It is filled with unspoilt natural attractions that are difficult to find in Bali nowadays. These attractions include waterfalls, beaches, and Mount Rinjani. Mount Rinjani is a volcano that looms over the island.

Lombok’s peak tourist season takes place on the months of May to August. Getting around the island is made easy because of the many bemos, which is the local term for service minivans, and taxis, cars, and motorbikes. Some of the most popular waterfalls in the island include Air Tejun Tiu Kelep, Air Terjun Sindang Gila, and Air Tenjung Betara Lenjang. The Tanjung A’an is an area located near the Kuta Beach. It is known for its pepper-like sand. Other places to visit include the Narmada Water Park, which is located 10 km east of Mataram, and Sukarare, a village known for its traditional weavers.

There are many things to do in Lombok. There are biking tours, fishing charters, and hiking trails. There are also a number of scuba diving and snorkelling sites around the island.
