About Geelong, Victoria
The City of Geelong is located on Corio Bay, 75km SW of Melbourne and is the second largest city in Victoria with a population nearing 250,000. Geelong is home to stately historic buildings, a recently redeveloped waterfront precinct which houses a 19th century steam carousel, fantastic shopping and the AFL team Geelong Cats.
Geelong is the first stop along Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, one of the world’s most scenic coastal drives. Discover the breath-taking coastline of South-Western Victoria and visit the surfside villages of Torquay and Lorne, coastal Warrnambool and historic Portland, and Port Campbell.
Visit Adventure Park Geelong, Victoria’s first water theme park with around 20 land and water based activities. Historial attractions in Geelong include the National Wool Museum, Maritime Museum and the Old Geelong Goal which dates back to 1853.
Avalon Airport (AVV) is approximately 15km NE of Geelong and is serviced by Jetstar flights from most Australian capital cities.
