Kingfisher Bay Resort is located on the western side of Fraser Island directly opposite Hervey Bay and approximately 15 miles from Hervey Bay Airport (with three express flights daily from Brisbane). Off Queensland's east coast and south of the Great Barrier Reef Fraser Island stretches over 75 miles and is roughly 230 miles from Brisbane. The resort's amenities include the four swimming pools tennis court hot tub natural therapy and beauty clinic live music in Maheno Lounge three restaurants coffee shop cafe four bars kids' club general store pool tables and gaming machines. Guests can enjoy ranger-guided eco-tours of Fraser Island seasonal whale watching (August to October) marine cruises and various watersports (sailing windsurfing and canoeing). The hotel also offers babysitting and parking. All rooms feature private decks air-conditioning hairdryers irons and ironing boards refrigerators and coffeemakers.From 1 November 2009 Kingfisher Bay Resort Group will be relocating its Marine Operations and Mainland Reception to premises at River Heads. Our Mainland Reception will be at the Riverheads Village two minutes drive from the ferry departure point. Guests will be transported to the departure point by bus shortly before the ferry departure. Reception facilities will allow people to wait for services in comfort with the availability of food and beverage and car parking. The Ferry has been refurbished with seating for 220 passengers on two decks with a fully licensed bar and snack food available on board.
