This former convent was built in honor of St. Juan Bautista in 947. It later became the court of the royal family of Castilla Y Le?n in the middle ages and was refurbished in the 16th century conserving nowadays the Gothic Cloister. The enclosure maintains the former monastery declared national monument. Separated from the urban center by the River Carri?n the monastery is wonderfully situated in the province of Palencia offering the possibility of numerous outdoor activities.
