Camogli
Italy 16032
This historic property dates back to the 16th century when the ruling Dogi of Genoa selected this idyllic spot nestled between Mount Portofino and Paradise Gulf as their retreat which was frequented by nobility cardinals and priests. Since then the property has been passed down along generations of heirs and was finally purchased by the De Ferrari family which transformed it into a hotel in 1956. The most prominent reminder of the hotel's history is its 1565 chapel which still stands. Camogli is conveniently located near the motorway and the train station making travel to areas such as Cinque Terre Florence Milan Monte Carlo and the French Riviera a simple matter. From its enviable position between the natural park of Mount Portofino and the dramatic coastline of Paradise Gulf views are nothing short of spectacular and can be enjoyed from the hotel's private beach terrace bar and restaurant. Tennis courts and an outdoor seawater swimming pool with solarium complete the picture for open-air relaxation. The hotel's 106 rooms are tastefully appointed with period furnishings as well as conveniences such as air-conditioning satellite TV and minibars. Cozy and comfortable common rooms offer ideal spots to curl up with a book. |
