International visitors and even locals who stayed at the Rydges Tradewinds agreed that it is definitely positioned in a very convenient location. Those who were visiting Cairns on business or conferences preferred to stay at the hotel because it was close to the Convention Centre and the central business district, as well as the comfort the hotel offered. They also felt the same way about the accommodations, being very relaxing with the spectacular views, and in good condition, although there were a few who remarked they were quite old and needed work. The staff’s friendliness and professionalism were recognized by most of the guests, specifically the receptionist, housekeeping, and restaurant personnel. Most of the families who were in Cairns to go on cruise or excursion found the tour desk to be quite helpful with booking them for an organized trip. Some also stayed at the hotel because of its accessibility to the airport and casino.
