The hotel offers a unique large swimming pool with real sandy beach with an Aqua pool bar, perfect for cooling off in the tropical setting. Its location, being close to the city centre, is also a big winner. It is within walking distance to the city's cafes, restaurant, shops, tour operators, and public transportation stations.

Concerns about the hotel are mostly about the expensive meals, parking and internet fees. Such issues were addressed by the management through a series of actions. First, they have currently introduced new value-for-money meals in their restaurant starting at $15. They are also currently sourcing a faster and more reliable internet service provider which can help them serve their customers better. Additionally, management has clarified that there are no fees for the use of internet cables for room use. It is just a cash deposit refundable after the cable has been returned. Lastly, they made sure that all visitors were informed of the free parking services available at their parking lot, down the next block.

Guests were actually divided regarding their views on local fruit bats (also known as Spectacled Flying Foxes) inhabiting the trees near the hotel area. Some guests think it is an attraction and charms of the locality while others think it is a nuisance to their vacation because of the noise and droppings that they make. To further improve tourist experience at their hotel, the management is in regular contact with the local environmental agencies to make sure that the impact of the noise from the protected wildlife is minimal, while also preserving Cairns’ healthy ecological system.
