The highly applauded part of the hotel is the staff's performance and location. Most of the guests, who arrived straight from the airport earlier than the usual check-in time, were given consideration by the receptionist to check in as soon as possible so that they can freshen up and rest after the long travel. The staff was also deemed to be knowledgeable and extremely helpful in giving suggestions on tours and activities. Service is the self-proclaimed focus of the Discovery Hotel. As for the location, it is only a 5 minute walk from the beach, and a few more minutes away from the central business district.

Some of the guests, however, raised concerns regarding the room qualities when geckos were found inside their room. This was promptly addressed by the hotel's Operations Coordinator, saying that since they are a low level property with gardens, native critters are bound to enter some of the rooms on occasion. They will be more than happy to manually get rid of the insect for you, since they consider geckos harmless, amusing, and part of the lure that is the tropics. As for other insects, the hotel claimed that they conduct regular environment friendly treatments done by professionals. Another issue raised was room quality. The management has advised that as a budget-friendly hotel, they strive to provide affordable accommodation that is guaranteed to get your value for money, without compromising quality and cleanliness.
