Palacio de los Velada is the place to stay in Avila, so if you can afford it, do not think twice. Location couldn’t be better... The building called Torreon de los Velada comprises several houses dating from the fifteenth century. They were all substantially reformed during the sixteenth century, preserving their medieval air. The House of los Velada presumably had a very active life until well into the seventeenth century and was frequented by monarchs and courtiers. Proximity to the Cathedral and the Bishop’s Palace, made of it a suitable lodge for sovereigns or courtiers. Today the Palace of los Velada has been beautifully restored and transformed into a very comfortable luxurious four star hotel with charmingly decorated bedrooms and superbly appointed deluxe bathrooms. The most impressive area of the Palace is the inner courtyard, hotel life practically evolves around it. This is the place where you can enjoy lunch or dinner on the open, sit down for a chat or maybe have a drink at the bar while listening to music. The rural house "La Sayuela B&B****" is a ground floor building, which has walls 60 centimetres wide made of stone on the outside and wood work on the outside and the inside, this makes it suitable for keeping coolness in the summertime and the warmth of the heating in winter. There are five double bedrooms all of them with bathroom and each one looking on a different sight of the Gredos Mountains or Tietar Valley. The lounge has a timber ceiling six metres high which makes you feel a special and comfortable spaciousness enjoying the warmth of the fireplace and together with the dinning and living areas makes it possible to create different atmospheres at any time. From the lounge there is a forged staircase which leads to the games room. There you can find a billiard table, darts, table games, as well as a large library with a great choice of books, you can also enjoy the sight from a bay window and be delighted by the landscape, and watch at night the stars in all their splendour. Also we have houses of complete rent for two people.
