We are glad to show you "Certosa di San Giacomo", an ancient monastery with eighteenth century church surrounded by 42 hectares of green grass and flowery gardens. The monastery, built between 1197 and 1209 at Lauro, a medieval small town in Avellino province, became soon a place of agricultural production very famous for the quality of its products, and a place of spiritual refuge. In 1620 it became an Abbey and in the following century it had a new splendour thanks to a complete remake. By the laws of 1808 about the confiscation of Church property, the "Certosa" is transformed in a magnificent country residence. Today a careful remaking has given it new life transforming it in an ideal place for a pleasent stay and weekends into full contact with nature. The Hotel has 45 rooms, 3 typical restaurant, a swimming pool, gym and all the facilities for an unforgettable stay.
