Alternatively, a short walk in the opposite direction will take you to Auckland's famous Karangahape road, with its concentration of night clubs, alternative lifestyle shops and venues and an ever-expanding number of ethnic and cultural outlets selling goods and produce from all over the world. Auckland's Queen Street and central business district, and the stylish Viaduct Harbour are also well within walking distance.

Quest Ponsonby Auckland
Located at the Karangahape Road end of Ponsonby Road opposite Western Park. Things to do: Quest Ponsonby is a great weekend shopping destination. Within easy walking distance are a myriad of up-market shops, bars restaurants and cafes. Or visit the racier Karangahape Road with its nightclubs, alternative lifestyle shopping and venues, and multitude of ethnic stores. For the sports fan Quest is ideally located only five minutes' drive from Eden Park, site of many national and international rugby and cricket finals. Or walk to the Viaduct Harbour, host venue for the Americas Cup yacht racing series, and a jumping off place for many of Auckland's most popular water-based recreational activities as well as being another centre for fine dining. From the waterfront you can also catch a ferry to Waiheke Island, home to some of New Zealand's best boutique wineries.
