The complex has been totally restored and rebuilt with great care for detail. The original floor plan was maintained. Under layers of paint, cement and plaster, spectacular original findings have been made, including intricate ceilings, ornamental fireplaces, hand carved doors and chests, to mention a few. Not to forget a beautiful mosaic courtyard with a water well. Also it became clear that the houses had been built with remains from the Roman and Byzantine era. The first part of the Alp Pasa Hotel was opened in 1995. The second part was completed end of 1998. Turkish architects and European interior designers have created an atmosphere of tradition and hospitality combined with comfort. The original pond became a swimming pool with jacuzzi. All rooms have the comfort of a modern hotel: private bathroom and naturally air conditioning. Each room differs because of original details and proportions, decorations, fabrics and colours. Many rooms have a jacuzzi, others a canopied bed. In one of suites is an authentic ornamental fireplace. There is an absolutely fabulous honeymoon-suite and a special family room. The Alp Pasa hotel is unique because of its monumental buildings. Also our hotel has several specialities. In the main buildings (Selamlık) the rooms have sultans or pasas names. In the other buildings (Haremlik) the rooms have harem-girls names. The hotel has also a small private hamam, where you can get a real Turkish massage. |
